Over the weekend we got quite a surprise when fishing in a local Charlotte pond.
Instead of a fish on the end of the fishing pole was a….
We caught the fish the snake was making as his meal. Unfortunately, the snake also had the hook in his mouth.
After careful thought and action, the snake was immobilized and the hook was safely removed from his mouth and the fish.
DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME.
The snake gladly ate the fish and slithered away.
After a little research, I think we have determined the snake was a “Banded Water” snake and not poisonous – but I am not a snake expert so I can’t be positive.
However, this is something that is very important to be aware of. Snakes are quite abundant in Charlotte and you should really be careful.
